News & Events

15 April 2020

We have set up a WhatsApp group for Llangefni members. An invite was issued to members via our second Keeping in Touch Newsletter. It had gained momentum on the Whats App group where we discussed doing something to keep us busy and to put a smile on the residents of Hafan Cefni Extra Care where we meet Mon to Wednesdays in the Activity centre. We established that we needed to make 65 cards so that every resident could have a card. We would have hated to have left someone out. I then decided that I would make a card for all the staff who are working so hard in keeping residents safe and well. We also made a few rainbows crochet, sewn and knitted together with a few knitted finger puppets. Delivery was arranged from the doorstep with everyone taking part being advised when to put on doorstep. Arrangements were then made for Vicky to collect and deliver. No mean feat as Vicky was not allowed access to Hafan Cefni.

Exchange took place in the car park of Hafan Cefni on Good Friday. The cards were left blank so that the nursing staff could address them to each individual. Feedback was that everyone got a card and they were happy that we were thinking of them. We are now looking at other projects to keep us in touch and still part of a community.
